Milton Bertolio
Owner/Manager/Investigator
Mr. Bertolio was born in Port Arthur, Texas and grew up in Port Neches, Texas. He graduated from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas earning a BBA in Accounting. Mr. Bertolio was hired as an Assistant Cashier by Sabine Bank in Port Arthur in 1977 and ended his banking career as a Vice President after 8 years as an installment and commercial lender.
He began his accounting career with a local CPA firm in the Beaumont area in 1985. His primary areas of audit experience throughout his career include the audits and taxation of banks and other financial institutions, commercial businesses, governmental entities and not-for-profit organizations. In addition, Mr. Bertolio has worked a number of fraud and embezzlement forensic audits involving banks and credit unions, not for profit organizations and as well as corporate and individual business’s. He has also assisted local attorneys in civil litigation involving the locating of hidden assets and other items of interest in divorce and bankruptcy proceedings. Mr. Bertolio possesses exceptional analytical skills to evaluate and formulate a solution to a client’s most challenging situations.
Mr. Bertolio has worked with the United States Bankruptcy Court, United States Attorney’s Office, Federal Bureau of Investigations, Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms as well as local District Attorney’s Offices. Mr. Bertolio has given expert testimony in the Federal Courts, District Courts and local municipality Courts.
Mr. Bertolio is certified by the State of Texas Supreme Court as a process server. Mr. Bertolio is trained in interviewing, surveillance operations and serves as the firms lead forensic financial investigator.
Mr. Bertolio also is a guest speaker and lecturer in the subject matters of Waste, Fraud and Abuse, employee theft and embezzlement and is available to speak to various local civic and professional organizations upon request.
Mr. Bertolio obtained his private investigators license in December 2015 and has worked numerous civil and criminal investigations.
As TransTex Investigations, LLC’s Owner/Manager, Mr. Bertolio continues to offer both civil and criminal investigative services and brings of wealth of forensic accounting and litigation support experience to the firm. He also serves as the firms primary insurance investigation review and research specialist.
Tommy Perkins
Investigator
Mr. Perkins was born and reared in Mission, Texas. He is most familiar with the people and culture of the Texas Rio Grande Valley. Upon leaving the Valley, Mr. Perkins began his business career in Austin, Texas where he owned a large automotive repair business and a small independent automobile dealership where he began financing and carrying notes on the automobiles he sold.
In 2002, Mr. Perkins became interested in private investigative work and obtained his license as a Texas licensed private investigator. Through the years, Mr. Perkins has worked a number of workers compensation, infidelity and drug related cases here in Texas and as far away as Illinois and Michigan including several high profile cases.
Mr. Perkins says he “has the patience of an oyster” which has made him a highly sought-after investigator in the specialty of surveillance. Mr. Perkins is highly trained and skilled in both surveillance and skip-tracing.
Mr. Perkins joined TransTex Investigations, LLC in July of 2017 and brings a wealth of investigative, surveillance and skip-tracing knowledge to the firm. Mr. Perkins is highly respected by his peers and is known as a “Surveillance Specialist”.
Pete Konidis
Senior Investigator
Mr. Konidis grew up in Houston, Texas and has lived in the Beaumont/Port Arthur area for the past 25 years. Mr. Konidis is very familiar with the social and economic environment of the area and possesses a unique skill set in being able to gather and disseminate information in a short period of time.
Mr. Konidis has over 20 years of Law Enforcement experience serving 10 years as an undercover and surveillance operative. Mr. Konidis earned an Associate Degree in Fire Science and has served as a Firefighter in the Fire Service for over 25 years and 10 years as a Fire Investigator.
Mr. Konidis has over 8 years experience as a Private Investigator investigating both civil and criminal cases. With a continued interest in investigative work, Mr. Konidis joined TransTex Investigations, LLC in July, 2018 as a Senior Investigator and is based out of the Beaumont/Port Arthur, Texas area.
Jimmy Newsom
Senior Investigator
Mr. Newsom has been in the private investigation field since 1997. Mr. Newsom has a BA degree in Criminal Justice and is a provider of workers’ compensation continuing education accredited by the Texas Department of Insurance.
Prior to joining TransTex Investigations, Mr. Newsom was the owner/manager of RJM Investigations in New Braunfels, Texas. Mr. Newsom served as an Assistant Vice President in the Claimant and Provider Fraud Department of the Texas Workers’ Compensation Insurance Fund. Mr. Newsom is experienced in insurance investigation review and research.
Mr. Newsom brings a wealth of law enforcement experience with over 30 years of handling criminal crimes including homicide, sexual assault, narcotics, and white collar fraud. In addition to his criminal experience, Mr. Newsom also has experience in a wide variety of civil litigation support and experienced in interviewing and surveillance operations.
Stephen Grant
Investigator
Mr. Grant was born in Beaumont, Texas and grew up in rural East Texas. He is very familiar with the East Texas culture and understands the diversity of its population and the economic environment of the area. Mr. Grant became interested in investigative work at an early age. He worked as an Asset/Protection/Loss Prevention Officer at a large retail outlet while attending Lamar University primarily in an undercover theft/investigation capacity.
In addition to his Asset Protection/Loss Prevention background, Mr. Grant also was employed as a uniformed security officer with a major oil company and spent a short time as a 911 emergency services technician. Mr. Grant spent 8 years as a correctional officer with the Jefferson County Sherriff’s Department in Beaumont, Texas.
Mr. Grant obtained his private investigators license in January of 2017 and has worked a number of both civil and criminal investigations.
Mr. Grant is certified by the State of Texas Supreme Court as a process server and is trained in both basic and covert surveillance operations. Mr. Grant serves as the firms lead criminal investigator.
Mr. Grant joined TransTex Investigations, LLC in July of 2017 and is based out of the Beaumont/Port Arthur, Texas area.
Dennis L. Parker
Senior Investigator
Mr. Parker was born in Victoria, Texas into a military family. Dennis started school in Germany, graduated high school in Belgium and earned a Bachelor of Science – Criminal Justice degree from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. Having served 13 years in the Air Force as both an NCO and as a Commissioned Officer, Dennis is thoroughly knowledgeable about the culture of the military.
Dennis also worked in law enforcement in and around Houston, Texas. As an an Air Force OSI agent, he investigated felony criminal, major fraud, and counter intelligence cases. Dennis also has more than 10 years experience investigating and managing insurance fraud programs in the private sector.
As a NPSI instructor Dennis provides training to law enforcement and criminal justice professionals on the subject of interviewing and deceptive detection. He is also a regular speaker at ACFE events in Texas, has completed a number of professional development training courses, and is a Certified Fraud Examiner.
Dennis brings a wealth of investigative experience to TransTex Investigations, LLC and is highly respected by his peers.
Velma Rendon
Investigator
Ms. Rendon is a San Antonio native and is very familiar with the San Antonio community and its culture. Ms. Rendon began her investigative experience in 1991 when she was hired into Claims Fraud Unit (SIU) at USAA in San Antonio.
After 13 years at USAA, Ms. Rendon became a State of Texas Licensed Private Investigator and contracted with two of the most respected private investigation firms in San Antonio for 12 years. During that time, Ms. Rendon was able to hone and develop a high level of investigative, business and people skills working a variety of cases as a contract investigator. Although a contractor, Ms. Rendon served in the capacity of case manager.
With over 22 years of investigative experience, Ms. Rendon forged an associate relationship with TransTex Investigations, LLC in July of 2017 working primarily as a surveillance specialist out of the San Antonio area.
Ms. Rendon is also certified by the State of Texas Supreme Court as a process server. Ms. Rendon is highly skilled in surveillance and covert intelligence gathering operations and has given expert testimony in the judicial courts.
Ms. Rendon brings a wealth of insurance fraud knowledge to TransTex Investigations, LLC and is highly respected by her peers.
